Our medical situation is growing dire for our medical professionals and those needing care. Our Church facilities will be closed to all non-essential activities through February 15, 2020. Please see this letter (below) from Bishop McKee for all Hunt County Churches effective immediately. I support our Bishop’s decision. Please be in fervent prayer for both Divine surprising grace and healing, for the courage of our medical community, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit to bind us. We are in a different place than we were in early 2020. There is light at the end of the tunnel. The next few months appear to be tough ones getting to the end of this.
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. The alarming spike in positive COVID-19 diagnoses in Hunt County has severely impacted the ability of healthcare workers to provide care for their community. In-person gatherings, medical experts have warned, have heavily contributed to this influx and will continue to do so if swift action is not taken.
Because of this – effective immediately – I am suspending all in-person worship activities at North Texas Conference churches in Hunt County through Feb. 15. This is a vital and necessary step in our ongoing efforts to do no harm, and we will continue to monitor this situation closely.
