Mel & Dorothy Lew Scholarship

The  Mel & Dorothy Lew Scholarship is taking applications for the 2021/2022 School Year. Scholarship applications are available in the church office.
This scholarship was created and funded in 2012 by an anonymous member of Wesley UMC, in loving memory of Mel and Dorothy Lew who were devoted members at Wesley UMC for many years.

Purpose of Scholarship:
To strengthen the local church by providing financial support for college to eligible recipients who are called to Christian ministry.

ELIGIBLE RECIPIENTS

1. Graduating seniors who are members of Wesley United Methodist Church
2. Staff members of Wesley UMC who wish to pursue further education in their field of ministry.
3. Members of Wesley UMC who desire full/part-time study in a field of Christian ministry.
4. Members of Wesley UMC currently enrolled in an educational program of Christian ministry.

AREAS OF CHRISTIAN MINISTRY (defined for this scholarship)
Areas of Christian ministry allowable for this scholarship include, but not limited to, are listed in priority order below.

1. Youth Ministry
2. Children’s Ministry
3. Ordained Ministry
4. Education Ministry
5. Music Ministry
6. Church Leadership Development
7. Other areas of Christian Ministry defined at a future date by the committee
